I've loved rap ever since my first cd
the year was Oh One, slim shady lp
we were staying in maine on a family vacation
looking through a record shop that was near the location
of the little old cabin we were renting for the week
the town was kinda quiet so we went in for a peek
i was nine at the time so my mom i had to trick her
used my thumb to cover the advisory sticker
it was fourteen dollars so i promised to my mom
that I’d pay her back the money when we got home to vermont
she smiled, said don’t worry bud, i’ll get this one for you
had my walkman in the car so i knew just what to do
i popped it in, pressed play and quickly turned the volume up
once you get a little man this rapping shit is all you want
now my music library can fill up half my laptop
no pause button could ever really make this rap stop

I’ll never stop loving hip hop its not possible
no matter what may change no matter to the obstacles
the beats a special place when all my thoughts appearing clear
and im flowing like the ocean like my spot is near a pier
im trynna write this letter sign the top with "dear career"
the pen is in my hand but then i stop right here for fear
of what id say to future pensive i forgot im steering clear
of putting pressure on my words but you just got to hear sincere
never brought you here for fear of what you thought of what you hear
i don't smile a lot but this has got me ear to ear
this music is a a way for me say the things i think about
in rhyming form my mind performs the beat just helps me bring it out
for the one percent who cares man my music is for me
ninety nine percent affordable because my musics free
the one percent i'm asking for are minutes out your day
its a movement your supporting every time that you press play
